Foss Doll · Get It On

Classy piano sounds, tight DJ and live drum grooves as well as funky bass lines, the casually played saxophone and vocal highlights are the attributes that distinguish the band Foss Doll.
On the highest musical level, the smart band presents a mix of disco, house, pop, jazz and lounge music; giving the pieces an unmistakable, own Foss Doll sound. Danceable or stylishly atmospheric in the background.

Foss Doll is a professional band of internationally experienced, young, dynamic musicians with an amazing musical career. Probably the most impressive highlight was the joint stage performance with the Canadian world star Céline Dion in front of an audience of millions at Germany‘s most important TV and media award - the BAMBI Awards.

"Get It On“ is the fi rst release with original songs and tells the story of the bands formation and development. It is the result of an intense creative process in which the musicians of Foss Doll have combined their love for music with their years of experience in the music industry. From energetic tracks like "Keys And Saxy“ or "Motorway“ to relaxed pieces like "Chillin‘ With You“, there is something for everyone. Besides the two cousins Matt (saxophone) and Tom (piano) there are some guest musicians: Among others, the well-known smooth jazz trumpeter Lin Rountree contributed his
musical expertise and gives the song „Night Flight“ a special touch.

Julian Vaughn · Coastin

Born and raised in Kansas City, KS, Julian Vaughn was primarily a drummer when he picked up the bass guitar. Vaughn developed his playing style while growing up in the church where his grandfather pastored until turning over the reins to Vaughn's father. A few years later, he became good enough to start playing at concerts and live gospel recordings.

Vaughn launched his solo career in 2010 with his album The Purpose Project, which spring boarded him into his jazz career. In 2012 he put out the album Breakthrough (2012), featuring the single "On Your Feet," which peaked at #1 on the Billboard chart. He later would release albums Limitless (2015), Bona Fide (2017), Supreme (2019), and Chapters of Love (2021). Vaughn racked up four Billboard #1 hits between his albums and 8 #1s overall as a feature on various artists' songs. Vaughn has toured across the U.S., playing at some of the largest jazz festivals. In addition, he has performed abroad in places like Dubai, South Africa, Nigeria, Nairobi, Italy, Spain, and Germany. Vaughn takes pride in writing and producing almost all his music, saying, "I want to be known as a great writer and producer just as much as an artist."

Julian's latest independent release titled SOLO is his best work to date. As Vaughn's recording catalog continues to grow, he hopes to continue to redefine the lead bassist role in the Smooth Jazz genre.

Eric Knight · Crazy

Eric Knight is a world-class veteran saxophonist who has recorded, performed, and toured major acts such as The Rolling Stones, Prince, J. Lo, Etta James, Hiram Bullock, Randy Brecker, and the list goes on….

At the age of 16, Eric started venturing out to perform in public by “sitting-in” with jazz, blues, and rock bands at dozens of different NYC venues to start honing his craft. One of his favorite memories is sitting in on a few tunes with the legendary Doc Cheatham and his band at the old famous jazz club “Sweet Basil’s” in Greenwich Village which closed in 2001.

Another epic and unforgettable experience for Knight was having the honor and privilege to open for Grover Washington Jr. for a few shows in New Jersey. In Eric’s opinion, Grover was the Godfather of the smooth jazz format and will always be one of his top musical heroes.

in 2022, Eric and his long time friend Doug Oberhamer got together and created a smooth jazz band called KnightHammer! Their first single called, “Kickin’ It” debuted in July and has been played on radio stations all over the world. Then in September they released their 2nd single called “Afterglow” which is a more intimate feature of Knight’s sound and approach on sax. KnightHammer will be releasing two more single’s before this year is up, the first one of which will be an original Christmas song called “Christmas, I Love You” followed by another original called, “Beyond the Vista”.

Eric’s debut radio single is finished; a unique contemporary jazz cover of the massive global hit “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. The track, which will appear on the forthcoming album called “Cover to Cover - Vol. 1” was co-produced and mixed by Multi-Platinum Drummer/Programmer Steven Wolf (Grover Washington Jr., David Bowie, Chaka Khan, P!nk, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, Miley Cyrus), Yaron Fuchs (Herbie Hancock, John Mayer, Sting, Paul Simon, Brian McKnight), and Spencer Hattendorf (Ariana Grande, Megan Thee Stallion, Jimmy Fallon).

Performances by keyboardist / pianist Bobby Sparks (Snarky Puppy, Marcus Miller, Kirk Franklin), pianist Andy Ezrin (Chris Botti, David Sanborn, Michael Bublé), guitarist Marcus Machado (Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway, Anderson .Paak), and bassist Will Lee (Late Show with David Letterman, The Brecker Brothers, George Benson).
