Roberto Tola · Natashenka

NATASHENKA is the new single by Roberto Tola, available from August 11, 2023 on all music platforms, and it is the 11th single that the artist has created and produced since he began his solo career in 2017, after over thirty years spent as a jazz sideman with artists such as Bob Mintzer, Tom Harrel, Carla Bley, Norma Winstone and artists of the Jazz Funk genre such as Shakatak, Jill Saward and many others.

This new single by the Italian artist follows the release of his new album entitled UNDER THE LEO SIGN, which took place on June 27, 2023, which is the fourth solo album by the guitarist and composer originally from Sardinia, the exotic island kissed by the Mediterranean sun.

The track is a dedication by the artist to his life partner Natalia, a name enclosed in the title of the song, as is easily understood; Natashenka is in fact the endearment. With Natashenka, Roberto continues his production on the wave of positivity, bright colors, light-heartedness, romanticism, elements that also reflect the personality of his partner.

This new musical project deviates a bit from the Italian artist's usual repertoire, in the wake of other compositions by Roberto, such as Sunny Morning - Summer Party (2022), with an absolutely danceable and summery mood. The song is colored by the Latin-Mediterranean charm, above all thanks to the Spanish-like, almost flamenco phrasing of the acoustic guitar which from the INTRO, and throughout the whole piece, duets and counterpoints to the roaring horns section.

Undoubtedly Roberto's new single is a soundtrack for the summer, with the spirit of living life at the best, aware that it is an opportunity that every living being has only once, and must be lived deep down, in peace and serenity. This is also the message that Roberto wants to communicate with this song and, to make this message more choral, the artist has decided to add a real choir of about 20 elements, which in the song sings a typical choral riff used in Sardinia to accompany and incite the dance of the famous Candelieri, a sixteenth-century festival, a UNESCO World Heritage, which takes place every 14th August in the city of Sassari, the native city of Roberto.

In the song, in addition to the Latin sound, also Jazz Funk and Fusion reminiscences are easily recognized, with a vein of light and good rock thanks to the crunch riff of the distorted guitar, throughout the song.
